About Beachwood Chamber of Commerce

Founded in 1991, the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce comprises more than 600 members from Fortune 500 to home-based business, including service industries, light manufacturing, retail, high-tech, biotech and hospitality. Beachwood’s business community includes several Fortune 500 companies among its ranks, but Beachwood is a leader in meeting the needs of its business community no matter how big or how small.

The Chamber connects its members to the community and other businesses through networking events, seminars, monthly luncheons, business shows and major events. The founder of the Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce, it also offers cost-saving benefits such as health insurance, workers’ compensation group plans, credit card processing and more.

About Beachwood

In its 5.25 square miles, there are more than 3,000 businesses, and each day more than 100,000 people come to Beachwood to work, shop and visit. This high-amenity community with low taxes and steadily rising property values is built on strong partnerships between government, schools and the business community. Its diverse business community includes thousands of businesses of all shapes and sizes, including company headquarters, leading retail and outstanding hotels and restaurants.

The award-winning Beachwood City schools serve 1,600 children every year. The district spends the highest per capita per student in the state of Ohio and has one of the lowest student-to-teacher ratios among public and private schools.

Beachwood boasts some of the finest dining in Ohio with many award-winning and critically acclaimed restaurants. People travel from across the region to find some of the finest shopping in a multi-state area. The Beachwood area has more than 2,100 hotel rooms making it a destination point for business and recreation travelers.

Many of greater Cleveland’s business and civic leaders call Beachwood home. All residents enjoy Beachwood’s fine park system, aquatic center, and top-quality recreation program.

  • 1.5 percent – Income Tax Rate
  • $8.75 per $100 value – Personal Property Tax Rate
  • $87.75 per $1,000 value – Real Estate Property Tax Rate
  • 3 percent of room rate charge – City Hotel Bed Tax Rate
  • 7 percent – Cuyahoga County Sales Tax Rate

  • Taxes are collected by R.I.T.A. Income tax forms are available at www.ritaohio.com.
  • Tax Rate is 1.5%
  • 100% credit for residents working in another municipality
  • Tax based on earned income
    • Dividends, pensions and interest are not taxed
  • Property Tax
    • Rate established by city is 4 mills (4 mills = $4/$1000 of assessed value)
    • County auditor establishes market value (assessed value = 35% of market value)
    • Values are updated every 3 years
    • All property is re-evaluated every 6 years
