Membership : Committees

Participation on a Chamber Committee is a great way to be involved in the Chamber and to network with other Chamber members. Committee participation can be fun and fulfilling.

Monthly Luncheons

Help plan meetings with notable guest speakers on issues of interest and importance to Chamber members and the community.  Meets 1st Thursday of each month, 8:30 AM at the Chamber.

Educational Seminars

Evaluate and implement educational opportunities and relationships that will benefit the membership. No set meeting dates.

Networking Committee

Plan networking events designed to showcase members’ businesses and for attendees to learn about each other by meeting in a variety of settings through the Chamber's Networking After Five monthly event and other special networking events. No set meeting dates. Event dates vary depending on event and location.

Golf Outing

Assist in planning the annual networking and fund-raising event. This committee meets for approximately six months. Best time to sign up is in the fall.  Contact the Chamber for 2008 meeting dates.  Meetings held 8:00 AM at Chamber office.

Business Show

Help plan, promote and execute this annual business expo, which draws more than 1,000 attendees, exhibitors and food vendors each year. The committee meets for approximately six months prior to this early fall event and accepts new members at the start of the planning process only. Sign up beginning March for the 2008 committee.  Meets 8:00 AM at the Chamber office.

Annual Dinner

Assist with the planning and implementation of the Chamber’s annual meeting and gala held each spring.  Meeting dates/times 2009 are yet to be set.

Community Events

Plan and implement the annual community Pancake Breakfast in February and assist in planning other major events during the year. This committee meets as needed to plan an event and more frequently just prior to an event.  

New Membership-Retention

Create strategies and develop activities for expanding membership. The Committee has several subcommittees designed to implement the committee’s goals, which includes assisting in retention of current members, welcoming new members to the Chamber and encouraging their involvement in Chamber activities. Attend events and ensure that new members feel welcome by facilitating introductions to other members.  Serve as a table host at monthly luncheons. Meets 1st Tuesday of each month, 8:30 AM at the Chamber office.

Host Committee

Attends events and ensures that new members feel welcome by facilitating introductions to new members. Host tables at monthly luncheons. This is a subcommittee of the New Membership-Retention Committee.

Economic Development

Work with the Chamber staff on economic development activities for Beachwood.

Marketing

Oversee the Chamber’s brand and plan the Chamber’s marketing and PR strategies. Oversee the website and other communication vehicles.  No set meeting dates/locations.

Assist in reviewing current member benefits and suggesting potential new benefits to increase the value members receive from their Chamber membership.
