Membership : Committees
Participation on a Chamber Committee is a great way to be involved in the Chamber and to network with other Chamber members. Committee participation can be fun and fulfilling.
Monthly Luncheons
Help plan meetings with notable guest speakers on issues of interest and importance to Chamber members and the community. Meets 1st Thursday of each month, 8:30 AM at the Chamber.
Educational Seminars
Evaluate and implement educational opportunities and relationships that will benefit the membership, and plan monthly seminar series. This is a new committee meeting to plan 6-8 seminars for 2008-2009. Committee meetings are once a month, subcommittees to plan specific seminars may meet more often.
Networking After Five and Young Professional Group
Plan monthly networking events at member locations, to showcase members' businesses and for attendees to become acquainted in an informal setting from 5-7 PM. Event dates vary depending on event and location. No set committe meeting dates.
The Young Professional Group holds similar networking events from 5-7 PM at member locations for those under 40 years of age to facilitate networking among their peers.
Golf Outing
Assist in planning the annual networking and fund-raising event. This committee meets for approximately six months. Best time to sign up is in the fall. Contact the Chamber for 2009 meeting dates. Committe meets once a month at the Chamber office. Time and date set by committee chair.
Business Show
Help plan, promote and execute this annual business expo, which draws more than 1,000 attendees, exhibitors and food vendors each year. The committee meets for approximately six months prior to this early fall event and accepts new members at the start of the planning process only. Sign up beginning March for the 2009 committee. Meets 8:00 AM at the Chamber office.
Annual Dinner
Assist with the planning and implementation of the Chamber's annual meeting and gala held each May. Meeting dates/times 2009 are yet to be set.
Community Events: Taste of Beachwood and Winterfest/Pancake Breakfast
Plan and implement the annual community Pancake Breakfast in February and our newest event: Taste of Beachwood. Join one or both of the committees. These committees meet as needed for an event and more frequently immediately prior to an event.
New Membership-Retention
Create strategies and develop activities for expanding membership. The Committee has several subcommittees designed to implement the committee's goals.
Assist in retention of current members, welcome new members to the Chamber and encourage their involvement in Chamber activities. Attend events and ensure that new members feel welcome by facilitating introductions to other members, and host tables at monthly luncheons. Meets 2nd Tuesday of each month, 8:30 AM at the Chamber office.
Marketing
Oversee the Chamber's brand and plan the Chamber's marketing and PR strategies. Oversee the website and other communication vehicles. No set meeting dates/locations.
Benefits
Assist in reviewing current member benefits and suggesting potential new benefits to increase the value members receive from their Chamber membership.
